Belén G. Freijeiro, OQO Editora

Belén G. Freijeiro was born in Pontevedra (Galicia), where she lives and works. Graduated from the University of Vigo –Fine Arts Faculty– specializing in Design and Audiovisuals. Her professional activity is dedicated, for over eleven years, to the world of Children's Literature, especially Graphic Design and Visual Communication in picture books. Currently she takes part in OQO editora, at the Editorial Department, as Art Director of picture books in eight different languages. She also takes part as teacher in the Postgraduate course: "Illustrated Book and Audiovisual Animation" from the Fine Arts Faculty, University of Vigo, where she teaches the subjects "Plastic Sequential Process" and "Picture books: the creative process”. Recently she has participated in several international meetings with illustrators, teaching about "The process of creating picture books”. She was jury for the Illustrators Exhibition in Bologna Children's Book Fair 2010.

Kiyoko Matsuoka

Kiyoko Matsuoka was born in 1961 in Tokyo. She graduated from the Joshibi University of Art and Design, majoring Art History and Iconology of Christian Art and later with a Masters Degree from Chiba University on the History of Art Education in Japan. Since 1986 she has been a curator at the Itabashi Art Museum. In 1989 she became responsible for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition in Japan and since then she has collaborated with the Bologna Book Fair in organizing the world tour of the exhibition.

Kiyoko has organized several series of exhibitions of picture book artists, such as Leo Lionni, Yasuo Segawa, Tomi Ungerer, Dick Bruna, Bruno Munari and Dusan Kallay. She has also organized workshops on the creation of books for children for young artists, as well as various events and courses for adults and school children interested in picture books. She is also a university lecturer on Art Production. In 2005 she was a jury member for the BIB.

Kiyo Tanaka

Born in Kanagawa, Kiyo Tanaka studied oil painting and print making ?at Tama Art University in Tokyo. Her first children's book Mizutama no Chihuahua (text by Areno Inoue) was published in 1997 (Fukuinkan Shoten). Since then she's enjoyed considerable success as a children's book author and illustrator while continuing to produce and exhibit print works throughout Japan.

She has participated twice in the illustrators' exhibition at the Bologna Book Fair (Italy) in 1995 and 1996, as well as the Biennial of Illustrations in Bratislava (Slovakia) in 2001 and 2003.
For her illustrations she uses a technique of copper plate printing on Japanese paper.

Polona Lovšin

Polona Lovšin was born on June 1973 in Ljubljana. She has an academic education in painting. She graduated in 2000 at Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. The subject of diploma work was Slovenian national ornament from past until today. She is a free-lance illustrator working and living in Ljubljana. In past years she worked for all major publishing houses in Slovenia and more international publishers from United Kingdom, United States of America, France and China. Her books are available in more than fifteen languages.
